Sibisi is a Durban based artist who makes washaway paintings on paper and canvas. He is a veteran artist who has been involved in the Durban art scene for a long time. Both a practicing artist and teacher he joined the BAT Center’s artist-in-residence program in April 2001. The pieces he produced during his residency broke new ground and presented Sibisi with new ways of working. He believes that ‘personal visions are born out of meditation, seclusion, silence and just hard work’.
