Cascoland workshop at ArtEast Summerschool, Bishkek summer 2009

The ArtEast Summerschool was a continuation of the ArtEast School for Contemporary Art - course. After a half year introduction into the history of contemporary art this final trajectory focused on The Practical Implementation of Site-specific Work in collaboration with Cascoland artists. The summerschool consisted of workshops by Cascoland artists on working in public space with audience participation. A final presentation of 8 projects developed during the summerschool took place at a one-day mini festival in the centre of Bishkek organized by ArtEast, Cascoland and the students (see Press, ArtEast Summerschool).
ArtEast and Cascoland were very pleased to offer the possibility to 2 of the students, Bermet Borubaeva and Nicolaj Cherkasov, to participate in the Trailerpark summerschool at kunstfort Vijfhuizen, the Netherlands, immediately after the ArtEast summerschool.
